DISRUPTIVE PLANETS
discovering and studying new worlds to consolidate our understanding of planets and habitats.

UROP - Summer 2020
My name is Mohit Dighamber and I am a sophomore at MIT. I am majoring in physics and minoring in both mathematics and philosophy. This summer, I will be working with the Disruptive Planets team to research stellar activity using TESS data. Stellar activity presents a common complication in analyses of exoplanetary transit observations, as starspots can alter transit depths and skew resulting interpretations of the data. Additionally, potential host stars must be well understood so that exoplanets may be properly characterized.
